Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via Rongai route takes you through the un usual and the rarely used route to scale Mount Kilimanjaro ascending from the Northern Eastern border between Tanzania and Kenya and descending by the Marangu Route. The Rongai Route offers you

a different perspective as observed from the other routes such as machame. It's the easiest route to scale the great height of Mount kilimanjaro as it passes through farmland and forest, past Alphine moorland to the beautiful summit cone. Nothing comes close to the extra ordinary views from Uhuru Peak at the top of Kilimanjaro and the excellent opportunities of wildlife viewing as you ascend. After the challenging climb you will be rewarded at dawn by the spectacular views of the glaciers and ice cliffs of the summit and across the East African plains.

Mount Kilimanjaro Amboseli, Masai Mara Safari

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya

Arrive at Nairobi, Kenya on this day. Overnight at a quiet Nairobi Hotel, just outside the Nairobi city.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

Head out for Game viewing in Amboseli National Park, wolrd renowned for its remarkable herds of elephant in Africa added to the dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon of game drive.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

The second day in Amboseli. It will be a full day so better be prepared since in the early morning we head out for an enjoy game drive looking out for elephants, Grant's gazelle, lions, rhino, among many other wild animals. You will get a chance to visit the local traditional Masai Villages, Late in the afternoon hike to a selected location with the most spectacular sunset views in the company of the Masai warriors.

Day 4: Begin Kilimanjaro Trek

Depart early morning to the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. After registration at the Marangu park gate. Meet up with your porters at the Rongai trailhead where a 3 hours trek to our camp begins, along a small, unspoiled trail through forests of camphor and East African olive to our camp.

Day 5: Kikelewa Cave

On this day continue the steady ascent torwards Kibo as you enjoy magnificent views of Kibo and the crater rim. Trek on through the moorland towards the jagged peaks of Mawenzi. The next campsite is in a sheltered valley, decorated with giant senecios near Kikelewa Caves. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing and relaxing.

Day 6: Mawenzi Camp

We cross the barren “moonscape” of the saddle, between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks as we trek east toward the northern head of the cirque of Mawenzi. At the next camp enjoy your lunch, and the afternoon free to relax and explore the Mawenzi region.

Day 7: Outward Bound Hut

Head out torwards the Outward Bound Hut at approxmately 4,750m above sea level. Here the mountain vistas are awe inspiring. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon to relaxe gearing up for the D day - the summit attempt.

Day 8: Summit Day - Horombo Hut

The dead of the night marks the start of a challenging climb to the summit. It will be dark and cold and you will be required to use your head lights. After about 2 hours you will get a chance to enjoy a cup of coffee at Hans Meyers cave. Just as the sun rises you should be standing at the highest point in Africa the Uhuru Peak.

Day 9: Marangu

This is the day you successfully scaled the hieght of the magnificient Mount Kilimanjaro. and on this day you start you descent across the moorlands, cutting through the forest to Mandara for lunch and a bit of rest. After which we continue down to Marangu gate. Then a drive to hotel for a hot shower, rest and celebratory dinner is surely in order.

Day 10: Masai Mara National Reserve and Musiara

After an early breakfast, transfer to Masai Mara National Park for the third leg of you safari. Enjoy an optional afternoon game drive and exploring the Masai Mara.

Days 11 - 12: Masai Mara National Park

You will spend the next two days in the Masai Mara Reserve enjoying enthralling 4-wheel-drive game viewing expenditions.

Day 13: Morning game drive – fly home

Spend the morning enjoying one last game drive in the Mara, before catching a flight back to Nairobi and evening departure for home.
