Mount Kenya Climbing via Sirimon Route

Climb Africa’ second highest mountain peak in 5 Days with TravelBuddyAfrica.com. Climbing Mt. Kenya via Sirimon route accords your hike more scenic landscapes as opposed to the less challenging Naro Moru Mount Kenya climbing route. This route is much drier and trekking is relatively easy.

Embark on Mt Kenya climbing expedition under the canopy of the thick Mt Kenya forest before reaching the wide ridge approach to the summit area. The route starts on the northwest side of the mountain near Nanyuki. Access is adequate and the bunk house facilities are the best on this side of the mountain.

When climbing Mount Kenya one can gain altitude faster than the body can accommodate resulting into serious altitude sickness. To adequately acclimatize we recommended you spend a day or two at the base of Mount Kenya, an overnight stay at Naro Moru River Lodge allows one to acclimatize.
