4 Days Athi River Whitewater Rafting

A river whitewater rafting trip to the heart of Tsavo National Park. The high end adrenaline white water rafting will be carried out in Athi River - Kenya’s second longest river. The recommended duration of this action adventure rafting is at least 3 days.

Athi river offers over 80 kilometers of runnable white waters, where a third of the stretch features Class I to class III of whitewater rapids. Class I to Class III white waters are a favorite of beginners and intermediary level rafters to learn and gain the technical skills required to venture Class IV - V.

The river has awe inspiring scenery, multitude of wild animals and a spectacle that is the prolific bird-life with over 200 species having been observed and recorded. As you grind along the river you are more likely to spot such animals like lion, elephant, buffalo, crocodile and hippo among others.

The trip usually goes out fully self supported with our guides providing breakfast (full cooked or cereals/fruit/toast), lunch (a selection of cold meats and cheeses with bread/salad and fruit) and dinner (three courses). Day 4: we return to Nairobi by around lunch time. B.

 
 

What to bring

  • Clothes for rafting in such as Shorts and a t-shirt are ideal
  • Good fitting shoes or sandals (NOT flip flops)
  • Sun cream
  • Towel if wanting a warm shower after the trip
  • Dry clothes to get into after the rafting
  • Over night gear
